Formatıon of Fracture due to Increased Femoral Bowıng at The Level of Dıstal Naıl Durıng Pfn Procedure

Use of proximal femoral nails (PFN) in the treatment of pertrochanteric fractures has become popular for the last 20 years. Also, we experince some complications during application of PFN technique in our clinical practice like many orthopaedic specialists. In this case, we encountered a fracture of the nail at the distal end during application of the PFN technique. We have detected increased femoral bowing according to the graphies performed in the postoperative period. In this case we wanted to pay attention to the possibility of encountering a fracture of the nail at the distal end due to an increased femoral bowing.

Pfn Uygulaması Sırasında Yüksek Femoral Bowinge Bağlı Çivi Distali Seviyesinde Kırık Oluşumu

Pertorakterik kırıkların tedavisinde proksimal femoral çivi (PFN) kullanımı son 20 yıldır popüler hale gelmiştir. Kliniğimizde de sıklıkla tercih ettiğimiz PFN çivi uygulaması sırasında birçok uzman gibi bizlerde bazı komplikasyonlar yaşamaktayız. Bu vakamızda PFN uygulaması sırasında nadir görülen bir komplikasyon olan çivi distali kırığı ile karşılaştık. Postoperatif dönemde çekilen grafilerden yapılan ölçümler sonucunda artmış femoral bowing tespit ettik. Bu olguda, artmış femoral bowinge bağlı çivi distali kırığı ile karşılaşılabileceğine dikkat çekmek istedik.
