Note on Open Access and Commercial Rights

The Van Medical Journal is committed to open access in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI). Authors retain the right to use their published work for commercial purposes. The CC BY-NC restriction applies to third-party reuse only. Authors who require a fully open (CC BY) license for funder compliance (e.g., NIH, Wellcome Trust) should contact the editorial office before submission.

Copyright Ownership

Authors retain the full copyright and ownership rights to their work published in the Van Medical Journal. The journal does not claim ownership of the intellectual property. By submitting their work, authors grant the journal the right of first publication and the authority to be identified as the original publisher.

Author Rights

By signing the "Copyright Agreement and Authorship Acknowledgement," authors retain the following rights:

• Intellectual Property: Authors retain all patent, trademark, and other intellectual property rights.
• Commercial Rights: Authors retain the right to use their own work for commercial purposes.
• Self-Archiving (Green OA): Authors may deposit the published version (Version of Record) in institutional repositories, preprint servers, or personal websites immediately upon publication, provided the original publication in the Van Medical Journal is acknowledged.
• Integrity: Authors preserve the right to protect the integrity of their work against derogatory treatment.

Submission Requirement

During the submission process, all authors are required to sign and upload the "Copyright Agreement and Authorship Acknowledgement" form. If a manuscript is rejected or withdrawn, this agreement becomes null and void, and no rights are transferred to the journal.
